About Us
Students from all over Davie County have come together to form Davie County Young Filmmakers Club. A diverse group of Middle and High-School students meet once a week throughout the school year to learn the basics of coming up with story ideas, script writing and preproduction. The club members also learn how to work efficiently in location scouting, camera and equipment operating and post production jobs like editing. They even learn how to promote their movies for grants and festivals. At each of their meetings they also work together on the scripts and shot lists and spend lots of time practicing operating the camera and lights. The group has released several short films including one that was shown at the Cucalorus Film Festival in 2011. Some of their productions are being shown on Yadtel Telecom and in the Davie County Elementary schools as part of their anti-bullying campaign.
